The OWFR Partners plugin displays searchable, animated grids of partner
organizations on the website. Each partner card shows the organization's name, a short
description, logo, and a link to their website.
Partners are managed entirely from a dedicated admin dashboard inside WordPress. No coding
is required to add, update, or remove partner listings.
Shortcodes.
Two shortcodes are used to embed partner grids on different pages:
[owfr_partners type="org"] for Organizational Partners and
[owfr_partners type="pc"] for Primary Care Partners.
These are already placed on the appropriate pages by the developer.
2
The two partner types
The plugin manages two separate, independent lists of partners. Each list has its own
tab in the admin dashboard and its own shortcode on the website.
Type
What it represents
Shortcode
Organizational Partners
Community organizations, health services, and agencies that partner with the OWFR OHT to deliver integrated care across the region.
[owfr_partners type="org"]
Primary Care Partners
Family health teams, medical clinics, and primary care providers within the Ottawa West Four Rivers catchment area.
[owfr_partners type="pc"]
Each type has its own page on the website and is managed separately in the admin dashboard.
A partner added to the Organizational list does not appear in the Primary Care list, and vice versa.
3
How it looks on the website
On the public website, each partner type displays as an animated card grid with the following elements:
Search bar: At the top of the grid, visitors can type to filter partners by name in real time.
Partner count: A count of the currently visible partners updates as the search is refined.
Partner cards: Each card shows the partner's logo, name, short description, and a link button to their website (if provided). Cards have a customizable background colour.
Tip: Background colour.
Each partner card can have its own background colour. This is useful for matching a
partner's branding, or simply giving the grid a varied, visually engaging appearance.

Accessing the admin dashboard
Log in to WordPress at ottawawestfourrivers.com/wp-admin.
In the left-hand sidebar, click OWFR Partners (look for the network icon).
The Partners dashboard opens with two tabs: Organizational Partners and Primary Care Partners.
Click the appropriate tab to manage that list.
Who can manage partners?
Users with the Editor or Administrator role can access the Partners dashboard.
If you cannot see "OWFR Partners" in the sidebar, ask your WordPress administrator to check your user role.
5
Adding a new partner
In the Partners dashboard, click the tab for the correct type (Organizational Partners or Primary Care Partners).
Click the green + Add Partner button in the top-right corner of the panel.
A form appears. Fill in the partner's name, description, logo, website URL, and background colour.
Click Save. The new partner card appears in the grid on the website immediately.
Required field: Name.
The partner's name is the only required field. All other fields are optional, but adding
a logo and website link makes the card much more useful for visitors.
6
Every field explained
Name
The full name of the partner organization as it will appear on their card.
Required
Description
A short description of the organization (1–3 sentences). Shown below the name on the card.
Optional
Logo
The organization's logo image. Selected from the WordPress Media Library. Displayed prominently on the card.
Optional
Website URL
The full URL of the partner's website (e.g. https://example.org). Creates a clickable link on the card.
Optional
Background Colour
A hex colour code for the card background. Used to match the partner's brand or add visual variety to the grid.
Optional
Logo tips.
For best results, use a PNG logo with a transparent background. Logos are resized automatically,
but square or wide formats work best. Keep file sizes under 200 KB.
7
Editing a partner
Open the Partners dashboard (OWFR Partners in the WordPress sidebar).
Click the tab for the correct partner type.
Find the partner in the list. You can use the search box at the top to filter by name.
Click the Edit button (pencil icon) on the partner's row.
Update any fields in the form that appears.
Click Save. The changes appear on the website immediately.
8
Deleting a partner
Open the Partners dashboard and navigate to the correct tab.
Find the partner you want to remove.
Click the Delete button (trash icon) on the partner's row.
Confirm the deletion when prompted. The partner is removed from the website immediately.
Deletion is permanent.
Deleted partners cannot be recovered from the interface. If a partner needs to be
temporarily hidden, consider discussing with your developer whether a "hidden" flag
can be added. Otherwise, you would need to re-enter the partner's details manually.
9
Reordering partners
Partners are displayed in the order they appear in the admin list. To change the order:
Open the Partners dashboard and click the correct tab.
Click and hold the drag handle on the left side of a partner row.
Drag the row up or down to the desired position in the list.
Release the mouse. The new order is saved and reflected on the website immediately.
Tip: Alphabetical ordering.
For large partner lists, keeping partners in alphabetical order by name makes it easier
for visitors to find a specific organization using the search bar.
10
How the search feature works
Both the admin dashboard and the public-facing partner grids include a search box.
Admin search
The search box at the top of each tab in the admin dashboard filters the list of partners
as you type. This is useful for quickly locating a specific partner to edit or delete,
especially when the list is long.
Front-end search (visitor-facing)
On the public website, visitors see a search bar above the partner grid. As they type,
the grid filters in real time to show only partners whose name matches the search term.
The partner count updates to reflect the number of visible results.
Search matches partner names only.
The front-end search filters by name. Description text and URLs are not searched.
Make sure partner names are accurate and complete so visitors can find them.

Frequently asked questions
I added a partner but it does not appear on the website.
Confirm that you clicked Save after filling in the form. Also check that
you added the partner to the correct type tab (Organizational vs. Primary Care) that matches
the page you are checking.
Can a partner appear in both the Organizational and Primary Care lists?
Yes. Simply add the partner to both lists separately. They will appear as independent cards
in each grid.
The logo is not showing up on the card.
Make sure the logo was saved using the WordPress Media Library picker and that the file is
a supported format (JPG, PNG, SVG, or WebP). Very large files may also cause issues; keep
logos under 200 KB.
Can I change the colour of the card text?
The card text colour is determined by the plugin's CSS and is not editable from the dashboard.
If a specific text colour is needed for accessibility reasons (e.g. white text on a dark background),
contact your developer.
How many partners can I add?
There is no hard limit. The grid adapts to however many partners are in the list. For very
large lists (50+), load performance may be a consideration; contact the developer if needed.
